A bathroom mirror lit from the ceiling puts your own shadow across your face. You lean in, tilt your head, and still shave or make up in the dark. This mirror carries its light behind the glass, in a frosted band around the edge. The illumination arrives from the perimeter rather than from above, so it falls on the face evenly and the shadow disappears. The mirror is built on 5mm silver glass, which is heavy enough to stay flat and give a true reflection instead of a slight distortion. Backlit units are wired to a fused spur, so the electrical supply belongs in the plan before tiling begins.
