Your visitors see the floor before they see anything else. In most homes it is one flat colour from wall to wall — clean, but it says nothing. A centre piece changes that. It gives the eye somewhere to land and makes the whole room look planned instead of just finished. This medallion is built for that job. Four 600 x 600mm pieces lock together into a 1200 x 1200mm carpet: a burgundy border carrying antique gold scrollwork, an ivory centre, and a bouquet of coral roses inside a gold rope ring. Lay it under a chandelier or in the middle of an entrance and the room finds its centre. Each piece is 10mm thick and covers 0.36 sqm. The edges are cut square after firing, so the four quarters of every scroll meet with no step between them. The gold is not paint. It goes back into the kiln a third time and is fired in. The body takes in less than 0.5% water — ISO 13006 group BIa, fully vitrified. Mop it for twenty years; the pattern stays.
