This Acti9 surge arrester is a Type 1 device, built for the main incomer where a building's electrical installation first meets the utility supply. A direct lightning strike carries far more energy than a switching transient, which is why Type 1 exists as its own class -- built specifically to survive and divert that level of current at the service entrance. Configured for a single-phase live-and-neutral circuit, this device carries a 350V maximum continuous operating voltage (Uc), deliberately set above normal running voltage so ordinary grid fluctuation never triggers it -- only a real surge does. Its 100kA nominal discharge current (In) is the standardized rating for repeated surge events. At under 1.5kV, the voltage protection level (Up) caps how much voltage reaches downstream equipment during a surge -- the single number that matters most for whether that equipment survives. Built to EN 61643-11:2012 and CE certified, supplied by Schneider Electric.
